The Women’s Center
Evans has sponsored The Women’s Center Leadership (TWC) Conference since 2013, volunteered at several TWC events, and has driven awareness around TWC’s mission to provide mental healthcare, career advice and counseling, and legal/financial resources to the local community. Sue Evans, our founder, is a member of The Women’s Center Board of Directors.
Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC)
Since 2010, we have donated over 5,000 lbs. of food, plus cash equivalents, to help feed families in need. As a company, we have also hosted and participated in multiple Sponsor Purchase Food (SPF) volunteer bagging events.
Salvation Army (National Capital Area Command)
Since 2014, Evans has supported their Angel Tree giving program, sponsoring 124 Angels!
Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS)
Evans has partnered with NVFS since 2015 through sponsorships and donations of school supplies. Evans is a proud five-time recipient of the NVFS Company as Responsible Employer (CARE) Award and is a standing member of the CARE Award Nomination Committee.
Shelter House
Evans recognizes the key role Shelter House serves in Fairfax County’s efforts to end homelessness. In 2018, for example, we held a Diaper Drive – donating hundreds of diapers and over $1,500!
Clothing Drives
Since 2011, our staff have donated professional business clothing, winter apparel, and shoes to support low-income families, as well as men and women establishing themselves in the workforce. Organizations supported include Cornerstones, Dress for Success, and Second Story.
Fun With A Purpose Corporate Initiatives
The Evans Office holds internal events centered around fun with a purpose. Some examples include March Charity Madness, an annual NCAA bracket challenge, and our annual company offsite Cornhole Tournament. The winners of those challenges donate a portion of the winnings to the charity of their choice. We have also organized events for Kick for Nick, The Women’s Center, and The Hispanic Federation. Most recently, we organized a company-wide “UseLess” initiative, a team incentive to increase the use of renewable resources.
